Olha Amanita
I’ve been photographing since childhood. Working with a film camera had the greatest impact on me. It taught me to wait and to listen before pressing the shutter. It taught me to stay fully present so I could capture real emotion. The moment when a person stops posing, stops hiding behind masks.
Those are the moments I value most. When the soul of the person in front of my lens begins to tell its true story.
I love reading those stories in their eyes… so I can share visual poems with the world.
My greatest inspiration is Woman. Her body, and how she feels within it. The processes she moves through. What inspires her. What hurts her. The roles she holds as mother, as lover, as herself.
That’s why I photograph love stories, births, weddings, portraits, life as it unfolds.
Based between the Big Island and Maui, Hawaiʻi.

"How wonderful to stop a moment and tell you a love poem through a single frame."
